Description
Websphere MQSeries Support team provides support of the MQSeries subsystem and related CLIENT and OEM software products.
Objectives
The objectives of MQSeries Support are:
Maintain the MQSeries systems software used within the current z/OS mainframe environment.
Maintain the MQSeries subsystems running within the z/OS mainframe environment, including the MQSeries communication facilities that communicate to other products.
Scope
The scope includes MQSeries Systems Programming support responsibilities for all related MQSeries systems software and the MQSeries subsystems running in the z/OS environment.
The MQSeries Systems Support Team will:
Install MQSeries and related systems software (CLIENT & OEM) running in the z/OS environment.
Upgrade MQSeries and related systems software in the z/OS environment.
Customize and Tune the MQSeries subsystem environment
Perform problem determination and resolution for MQSeries systems software and related program products.
Provide corrective fixes to MQSeries and related products.
Interface with automations on MQSeries startup/shutdown.
Create and maintain the MQSeries logs with each MQSeries subsystem.
Interface with Operations.
Build and configure new MQSeries subsystem environments.
Provide technical recommendations related to MQSeries software and tools upon request.
Create and support backup and recovery processes for the MQSeries subsystem environments.
Respond to system related performance issues of MQseries subsystems as required.
3- 5 yrs of experience
Technical Skills
Required General MVS Skills:
asic MVS Operational Skills (TSO, ISPF, SDSF, basic MVS and JES commands, etc.)
Basic CLIST & REXX programming/editing
SMP/E ¿ (product install & applying maintenance)
JCL
MVS Utilities (IEBCOPY, IBGENER, IDCAMS, etc)
Required MQSeries Skills:
MQSeries Problem Determination Skills
MQSeries Performance Monitoring, Tuning & Reporting
CLIENT MQSeries Tools & Utilities Support
MQSeries Operational Commands (Start/Stop/Display/etc.)
Understands MQSeries Fundamentals (e.g. MQSeries channel initiators, address spaces, archiving/logging etc.)
MQSeries Automations
MQSeries Backup & Recovery (D/R & local)
Remote Connectivity (i.e. CICS etc.)
MQSeries Security
Required
· Bachelors Degree
